Leandro & Micaela Tango Escenario Workshops
These workshops guide tango dancers from the social dance floor to the stage, starting with what is most basic and accessible. Using familiar salón material—walking, giros, sacadas—we work with simple, practical exercises that develop body technique and stage projection. Movements you already know are adapted for the stage, expanding range, intention, and visual clarity without losing the essence of Argentine tango. Designed for basic to intermediate dancers. No previous stage experience is required.
LM1. Adagio
Slow, elegant movements to improve line, body control, and expressiveness, with smooth transitions that enrich your dancing while remaining grounded and connected to the floor.
LM2. Elevation Basics (Lifts)
Controlled, grounded lifts focused on shared axis, timing, and mutual trust. Everything is approached safely, with clear support and gradual progression.
LM3. Variación
How to take familiar salón steps—walking, ochos, giros—and give them a strong, dynamic stage quality through greater use of space, dramatic pauses, and visual clarity for the audience.
LM4. Embrace technique and dynamics
We explore a more open embrace: how to maintain connection while expanding movement and projecting toward the audience. Emphasis on amplified posture, axis, and dissociation for greater expressiveness.
LM5. Sacadas and Cadenas
Sacadas with more intention, range, and depth (forward, side, and back). Fluid, choreographic cadenas that create visually striking sequences without losing musicality.
LM6. Barrida and Colgadas
Dynamic, elegant barridas and basic colgadas (controlled off-balance), all taught with safety and progressive technique.
